FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS!

Meet Matteo, a strong and courageous 19 year old from Wildwood, MO that lives with Cystic Fibrosis. CF is a genetic disease that causes thick mucus to build up in the lungs and gastrointestinal organs. This mucus causes difficulty with absorption of nutrients and elimination and is a breeding ground for life threatening bacteria that compromises lung function and causes scarring of vital lung tissue that is unrepairable. To fight these threats Matteo spends hours a day performing multiple breathing treatments, vest therapy to clear his airways and takes 40-50 pills a day. The average life expectancy of a CF patient is 50 years old and many need a double lung transplant to reach this age.

Matteo is determined to beat CF and refuses to let it define him. Matteo is a freshman at the University of the Ozarks where he is studying Health Sciences and plays outfield and pitcher on the baseball team fulfilling his dream of playing baseball at the next level. Life with CF makes “Teo” have to work harder than the average kid. He has unstoppable drive and a passion for living every day to the fullest. He lives his motto, “I’m just livin life” even though he has spent over 150 days in the hospital fighting a disease that is attacking his body everyday . There is no cure yet for CF and no government funding for research. Matteo and thousands of other people with CF count on friends like you to care and join us in finding a cure.

Mobsters on the Move Scholarship

The Matteo’s Mob Foundation is not only committed to raising money for Cystic Fibrosis research, but also keeping those living with CF active, so they can live their best life. Matteo Grassi is an 18 year old baseball player, who also happens to have CF. Baseball has become an important part of Matteo’s fight against CF. Now, he wants to help other people with Cystic Fibrosis to get up and get active! If you would like to participate in a sport or an
activity, we would like to help by paying up to $500 of the cost (this includes fees, tuition, equipment, etc).

2) Take the form to your CF clinic and obtain your doctor’s approval

3) Return the application to matteosmobcurecf@gmail.com
